Stylist, Extensions, Precision Cuts & Color
My name is Schuyler Rand Raine-Mustain. I was born in 1976 in Santa Cruz, CA.
I started beauty school in 2002 and am a Licensed Cosmetologist. I get asked very often why or how I got into hairdressing. It's a good question. One of the big influences on my decision was that my mother is a cosmetologist. I am a second generation Hair Stylist. I also wanted something creative, champion my own schedule and be around people. So I signed up for school and here you are reading about it. Cosmetology is my second career, following a 10 year tenure as a Union Ironworker. The switch from heavy construction to the salon could appear as occupational schizophrenia but has actually helped me develop a keen dexterity due to both profession's high-level demand of tool manipulation.
After experiencing salon life and the high demands of San Francisco, Carmel, and Beverly Hills, I am glad to be settled here at home. What I learned from those experiences is that People are people and Hair is hair no matter where I've worked. I am a great listener and pride myself on never betraying my clients' wishes and fulfilling their every need. My happiness hinges on my clients' satisfaction. My resume includes over 40 postgraduate cut and color classes, a certification as a HairLocs hair extension artist, and a certification as a Liscio Japanese permanent hair straightening expert. I am currently broadening my career as a certified Matrix Hair Color Educator.
Womens short hair precision cuts. Long layered cuts. Mens cuts, clippers or scissors only. Curly hair. I have had special Curly Hair training. So I LOVE working with Curls. Being a Color educator I excel in all things color. I am most famous for my color skills. From 5th Avenue looks to Haight Street funk. Highlights -- all over color, whatever you need, let me at it! Extensions, straightenings, even wigs. Just no updos or perms!
